Template:On the podcasts

Puts an On the podcasts section on a person's, band's or place's page, listing every podcast episode recorded as being about them. Renders nothing at all when there are no such episodes, so it is safe to leave on a page before anybody has been on a podcast.

Usage

{{On the podcasts}} episodes about this page's subject
{{On the podcasts|Tony Rice}} name the subject explicitly
{{On the podcasts|limit=25}} show more than the default ten

Put it near the foot of the page, below the prose and above the categories.

Parameters

• 1 - the subject, defaulting to the page's own name. Give it explicitly on a subpage, or where the page title is not the name episodes are filed under.
• limit - how many episodes to list. Defaults to 10.

Notes

The heading says "on the podcasts" rather than "podcast appearances" on purpose. Episodes are recorded with Has topic, which says an episode was about somebody and not that they were in the room — Tony Rice headlines episodes recorded after his death. A heading claiming an appearance would make a false statement of every tribute episode.

Episodes come from Category:Podcast episodes by way of Template:Firehose, which is doing all the real work here. Use that directly for anything this does not cover.

Nothing needs adding when a new episode is imported: the list is a live query, so an episode recorded tonight appears here tomorrow.
