Template:Studio track
Records who played on one track of a record, and shows them.
Written by the importer from arthel's session data — the same data the Rabbithole player uses to follow a picker from one track to the next — so calls to this template sit inside a marked block on a record page and are rewritten when arthel changes. Everything outside that block is left alone.
Usage
{{Studio track
|track=Silver 44
|number=1
|recorded=3 April, 2024
|studio=Tunesmith Studios, Nashville TN
|engineer=Jake Stargel
|Justin Holmes=guitar, vocals
|Kyle Tuttle=5-string banjo
|Harry Clark=mandolin
}}
Parameters
- track - the track's title. Required.
- number - its position on the record, if known.
- recorded, studio, engineer - about the session.
- Any other parameter is read as a musician: the parameter is their name and the value is what they played, comma-separated. A name is used as a page title, so spell it as their page is spelled.
What it records
One subobject per musician per track, carrying
Has performer, Has track name,
Has track number and Has instrument. One per
musician rather than one per track, because a subobject holds a set of values
and not a set of pairs — the name and the instrument have to share a subobject
to stay attached to each other.
That is what lets Template:In the studio ask a musician's page for every track that names them, without anybody keeping a list by hand.
